Top 5 Goals: Barclays FA WSL Matchday 10

The Barclays FA WSL had one final round of fixtures to end 2020 before resuming in 2021. While some matches were unfortunately postponed, the three matches remaining did not disappoint one bit. Let’s take a closer look at the Top 5 FA WSL Goals from Matchday 10.

  1. Jessica Fishlock- Reading Women

Considering the injuries that have kept Jessica Fishlock off the pitch in recent memory, it’s great to see her back and playing well. Fishlock has been doing it all for Reading this season and continued her run of form with a fine strike. Her prowess in terms of technique is second to none, which is evidenced by how she strikes the ball here. Fishlock makes contact with the outside of her right boot to slot the ball home. A classy finish from a classy player.

  1. Beth Mead- Arsenal Women

Beth Mead came in at No. 91 of the Guardian’s Top 100 Women’s Players of 2020 list. Her run of form has been a sight to enjoy; she displays so much quality in each match. Here, Mead did well to run into space, catching the defense off guard in the process. Once Mead picked up the ball, she knew exactly what to do with it. After dipping her shoulder inside, she curled it past the keeper perfectly. Splendid goal.

  1. Leah Galton- Manchester United Women

Leah Galton is someone NWSL fans might remember, she was actually drafted by Sky Blue FC in 2016. Her journey to stardom has been a bit unconventional, but now she’s playing the best soccer of her career at Manchester United. This goal was her second of the match and might have been a cross initially, but that’s a moot point. Galton’s strike arrowed into the roof of the net to complete her virtuoso performance.

  1. Leah Galton- Manchester United Women

Galton’s first goal of the match was a howitzer from long distance. Katie Zelem played her in well, but Galton had some work to do to slip the defender. A nice, quick turn gave her the room she needed to set up for the shot. As soon as she had a glimmer of daylight to shoot, she let it fly. As you can see in the replay, the keeper had no chance of stopping it.

  1. Tobin Heath- Manchester United Women

Tobin Heath has done it again, this time with a ton of her signature passion and swagger too. Heath picked this goal out to perfection. The winger created something out of nothing by catching the keeper off her line. Heath’s execution in the heat of the moment is what’s so spectacular, pure flow state as the ball found the back of the net. Notice the anger and passion that comes out after the goal, this is the Tobin Heath we know and love. She could be the player that brings Manchester United an FA WSL title.
